I stumbled across this incredibly well shot edit on Vimeo earlier and felt compelled to share it. Polymer waste is littering the oceans, it is sickening, estimated at 46,000 pieces of plastic per square kilometre of the world's oceans. We need to start designing and making products so that there is no waste produced, and start focusing on the environment and how we can benefit it through design.

This is a subject I feel very passionately about. I have been to lectures from numerous people, organisations, charities etc who focus on rubbish polluting our oceans, the ones with the most impact have been Emily Penn who works on collecting data about the amount of rubbish in the ocean, along with more local organisations like SAS (Surfers against Sewage).
